How To Confirm The Paternity Of An Unborn Child?

Hello I m in the military and have a bit of a recurring issue because of my profession. A young lady I had relations with this past Saturday, the 4th of June, is now claiming that she is pregnant and that is it my child... I did not ejaculate in, her I wiped it all off of her myself. On Tuesday, June 7th, we spoke again and she was claiming to have and been dealing with morning sickness for two days, that Mon June 6th-Tues June 7th. Now she s saying that her cycle comes on the 10th of every month for the past 2yrs and coincidentally it didn t come down today. What is that likely hood of her actually being by with my child? I know the odds are highly unlikely but I just wanted to be totally clear on this, especially with her exhibiting the symptoms she s claiming. She said her last cycle was the 10th of May, so I didn t the math if she actually is pregnant and her having missed her cycle at this time, wouldn t that make her about 4weeks or so give or take some days?

Hi,

Conception usually occurs around 11-21 days after the first day of the last period of a woman who has a regular period. The estimation of conception date is based on this. Based on the first day of her last menstrual period (May 10th) and assuming her cycles (30 days) to be regular, the most probable dates of sexual intercourse that led to her pregnancy happened to be between May 21 and May 28. So accordingly you do not seem to be the actual father of her unborn child which can be confirmed by DNA paternity test.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
