Hi, my fiance is 30yrs old, was diagnosed with diabetes (type 2) less than a year ago, has lost 40 lbs since (now weighing 136lbs) and recently diagnosed with high cholesterol. Since I'm the one that cooks at home most of the time how can I help with controlling all this?
Hi LDL is bad cholesterol – lower, the better / 100 (in ischemia, 70) is the aim. Need Life style changes - weight to normal / No tobacco or alcohol / Diet and exercise Seek a dietician's help - for both quantity and quality of diet Repeat the test in 6 weeks… if still high, he will need drugs (because it is also manufactured in the liver, determined by heredity.) Statin is the first choice. Regards
