How To Control Low BP And Which Specialist Should Be Consulted ?
lightheaded to dizziness. sometimes nausea. The dizziness seems to occur when lying down. Happens anytime during night/lying down. Blood pressure is always on the lower end of scale because I take 50MG of Metoprol for rapid heartbeat. I am 74 years old and am very active. I am trying to decide what doctor to see. I have a heart doctor, also a neurologist. My primary retired and I do not know my new (internist) primary very well. This has been going on for about a month. What to do?
Hi, thank you writing to Healthcare Magic. With this presentation, I think metoprolol might be the cause of this low blood pressure since it is an antihypertensive drug. You would need to see your doctor for the change of drug (probably an anti-arrhythmic drug this time) and the best is a cardiologist.
I hope that answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. We will be delighted to answer more questions from you. I wish you good health
