Dear sir i can understand your concern. i am very happy to see your diabetes is under good control. Then early morning low sugars at the time of 0400 should be prevented to keep excessive shooting up of fasting blood sugar This specific phenomenon is called as Somogyi Effect. In a nutshell the shooting up of blood sugar can be avoided by reducing medication during night time. The main reason for me to think like this you gave a valuable piece of information that early morning 0400 your are feeling hungry,This might be due to low sugars I suggest you to check sugars during that time if low kindly reduce night medication to avoid shooting up of sugars in morning.
