i am 39 years old and already have a 5 year old son during my last pregnancy I developed preeclampsia and the pressure never went back to normal. I just found out I am pregnant again and have been on Ic atenolol 50 my twice a day to control the bob and my ob/gym has stated that I need to come off of it while pregnant. My pressure is still high on the meds and at this point I am now discussing other options with my husband

Hello Welcome to HCM Thanks for posting your query. I understand your concerns. As you are pregnant, you should stop taking the drugs like atenolol which is a beta blockers group. Of drugs. It should not be taken during pregnancy.
As your pressures are still high, you need to switch over to other group of antihypertensive which are safe in pregnancy like methyl dopa.
Consult your gynecologist regarding this and take appropriate dosage.
