To get kidney disease from getting worse is very important. You can protect kidneys by taking blood pressure and other medicines every day, if your doctor prescribes them to you. Keeping your blood sugar in a healthy range, if you have diabetes. Changing your diet, if your doctor say you should. Quitting smoking, if you smoke. Losing weight, if you are overweight. Avoid medicine known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
