Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How To Control Vomiting Caused By A Viral Infection?
My daughter is 13 years old and has continued state of vomiting clear liquid for the last 2.5 weeks we have been careful in diet after a 3 day period of no vomiting we thought she had finally come good but last night she again started. doctors said it was a virus and just needed to run it coarse.
Since she is again vomiting you can give her anti emetics orally. It should stop if not, visit ER she may need injections & intravenous fluid support urgently. In the meantime, keep her well hydrated with Electrol & ORS. If she feels better give her bland food like toast, potatoes, oats, porridge & custard. You can get her clinically examined & liver function tests done to rule out any Liver dysfunction.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya Vasudevan, General & Family Physician
