Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 25 and have kyposis of the spine and have needed physio and back treatments. Recently the pain has made me nauseous and throw up while standing in one spot for over 3 hours. MY current part time job requires me to do this, and the hours will increase over christmas.
Hello, Thanks for posting in this site. I will suggest you to change the job if possible, as overexertion is not good for your health. As you must be aware that the treatment of Kyphosis is mainly: Exercise and Healthy lifestyle by maintaining good body weight and regular physical activity, this can relive you to some extent from back pain. Another important thing is to take proper diet with calcium and vitamin D supplements. You can take some over the counter analgesics like ibuprofen or Naproxen tablets which can relieve you with pain and some antiemetics, but my sincere advice would be to consult your ortopedic surgeon to know the severity of the kyphosis curve whether the curve is pinching the spinal cord or nerve roots. in that case you may require a surgical intervention. Hope for a rapid recovery. Regards.
