How To Cure Type 2 Diabetes And The Related Overweight?

Hi I'm recently detected with Type 2 Diabetes., is there a permanent cure for Type 2 diabetes? I do not have a family history,,, I was Alcoholic but have quit completely after being detected with Diabetes,now I'm on Gluformin G2 for the past one month and my sugar levels are in the normal range ( Fasting - 88 & post parandial 124 ) Can I cure it permanently by reducing weight? I'm over weight by 18 kilos now.,

Hi, i had gone through your query and understood your concerns.

Sir, Once you are diagnosed with diabetes and started medication, you should continue medication for the control of sugar levels. There is no permanent cure for Diabetes as of now. Reducing weight definitely helps you to control sugar levels but does cure diabetes.
The sugar levels you have mentioned are under very good control. If you were given directly Gluformin G2, You consult your doctor and discuss in reducing the dose or only plain metformin. Then check the blood sugar levels frequently. Even then if they are under control you continue with that reduced doses.
