Doctor, my father has serious alcohol additivity.. recently one of his kidney has failure.. spend lot of money and energy to retrieve him..but still he is drinking a lot, we could not able to control him. Give me some suggestion..is there any consulting for that?
Hi dear, you must admit him in psychiatric nursing home for alcohol de addiction. as at home he is not able to quit. there are many medication which help him to quit. there are certain medicines like benzodiazelins which helps to relieve withdrawal features and anti craving medications like topiramate, acamprosate etc .. also aversion therapy with disulfirum helps him a lot. first of all motivation of him has to increased to quit alcohol. up to date whether he ever tried to quit alcohol? consult psychiatrist for better treatment and counselling.
