How to cure alcoholic Polyneuropathy? 5 years of binge drinking of bad quality dangerous quality alcohol along with extreme ejaculation and libido loss ,like even three times a day sometimes, and chain smoking things . Haven t touched anything bad since 1 and a half years and doing everything for the body s wellness. But no significant differences have been seen as per my efforts. A lot of problems have come , like numbness tingling sensation of arms and legs both and certain points in palms and feet paining a lot. Enormous Pain is there and the lower back seems to have been broken by a sledgehammer. Difficulty urinating and passing gas and stool. Basically ,whole nervous system is nearly damaged or it seems so.
I am glad that you have been able to stay away from alcohol and smoking for the last 18 months, that it great.
Some of the nerve changes are not reversible but it is possible that some of them may improve.
Overuse of alcohol can be associated with decreased levels of vitamin b12 and folate, so it is possible if you replace these supplements that some of the nerve changes may improve.
There are also medications that can ahelp reduce neuropathy (abnormal function of the nerves) eg amitriptyline, tegretol, gabapentin, lyrica. Your doctor can prescribe one of these to help you.
I hope this helps
