Hi There I understand your concern for your fathers health and I would like to tell you that as your father has heart problems along with reduced heart function the medicines which are being commonly prescribed for supporting heart function also causes electrolytes imbalances and also affect kidney function due to which sometimes patients feels weakness shivering and all. So I would like to suggest you to get a Kidney function test along with serum electrolytes ( blood test) for your father and consult your cardiologist personally with these reports as some medicines need to be adjusted.
I wish him good health
