Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My father sustained blunt trauma to his chest resulting in fx of ribs 1-8 on his left as well as a sternal fx. He has a nonunion at his first rib 3 months post-injury with compression of the lower trunk of his brachial plexus with limited use of his left hand. What are the surgical options?.
HI Thank for asking to HCM I really appreciate your concern looking to the history given here if this is the rib fractures then nothing can be done if the fractures are stables only clinical symptoms can be treated and that could be sever pain, if the fracture parts are not stable and causing threatening sing then this could be managed accordingly with surgical intervention, take care and have a nice day.
