Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Pneumonia is the most common cause for pleurisy (inflammation of pleura).
And pleurisy is causing the chest pain.
So in your case as chest pain is continuous and not improving, possibility of persistent pneumonia is more.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and Chest x ray to rule out worsening of pneumonia.
Also get done sputum culture and sensitivity report. Culture will isolate the causative organism and sensitivity report will guide you about effective antibiotic treatment. This is the best treatment for pneumonia.
Once pneumonia resolves, pleurisy will also reduce and hence chest pain will subside.
You can apply warm water pad on affected areas. This will also reliev pain.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
