Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How To Cure Diarrhea, severe Headache And Shortness Of Breath Due To Food Allergy?
I am undergoing what appears to be an allergic reaction to food. I recently ate sashi-grade tuna (pan-seared only) and edamame (boiled, salted soybeans). I got a sudden, throbbing headache, severe flushing all over my body, and diarrhea. No shortness of breath or constricted airway, though. I ve taken 2 Benadryl tablets. Do I need to go to the ER?
The given symptoms could be an allergic condition but it has to be differentiated from dyspepsia and infection because these are the common condition rather than the allergic condition.
Unless the condition is confirmed, taking Benadryl will not work, but the best is have bed rest and take very light diet, mostly liquid diet is advisable.
If no obvious symptoms of allergy are there like itching and rash or breathing difficulty there is no need to take any medicine for allergy, although it does not seems to be an allergic condition.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Akhtarhusain,
