How To Cure Finger Pain After Injury?

I punctured my finger from something in work while repairing a golf club. It has tender for a week so I punctured it yesterday and squeezed it until blood squirted out. Today my finger all the way to my wrist is sore and tender. I took antihistamine thinking it may help if it's infected.
