Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hii Am just wondering if you can help me. I suffer fro bad hayfever, I get itchy eyes and sneezers and have a runny nose. But at the momeny i have a real bad cold from the hayfever and a bit of a sore throat am just wondering when this cold will go ? Thankyou.
The common cold normally lasts 1 to 2 weeks though the cough can sometimes persist after the other cold symptoms have resolved.
The symptoms related to the common cold and hay fever are similar and since you have both then your symptoms may be worse than if only one was present.
The use of oral antihistamines, topical and oral decongestants and topical steroid nasal sprays should help to decrease your symptoms.
The oral anti histamines and decongestants would be available over the counter, you may need a prescription for the sprays.
I hope this helps
