How To Cure Pain In The Shoulder And Also Sternum Above Chest?

Hi, I was knocked of my bicycle about 4 weeks ago. I damaged my knee and immediately had a dull pain across my chest at just below shoulder height. At the hospital they x-rayed my knee but only physically examined my chest, saying I had soft tissue damage. 4 weeks later everything has healed apart from the chest pain which is now only on the left of the sternum, above the heart. A sharp pain is evident when moving at certain angles and when coughing, and a dull pain when pressing the area. I am male, 44 years old, had Acromegaly (now cured) and am taking hydrocortisone, Nutropin, Nebido and calcium+vitamin D. I am worried I may have damaged a vein or artery. Thanks for your help.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are typical of musculo-skeletal pain. Veins and arteries do no hurt when moving. So, just relax and don't worry about it.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
