How To Cure Pain, Swelling And Discolouration On Knuckles?

I had dark brushing on the middle finger at the base to the middle knuckle. No pain. It lasted a week. Now bruising is subsiding but a light color bump has appeared just above knuckle. Slight pain when pressed. Noticed to the side of knuckle a puffiness. When pressed its whitish, maybe fluid. What is this? Is it serious?
