How To Cure Painful Lumps Around Eyes?

This problem has occurred ever since i was a child. Lumps would form around my eye. When I closed my eye, it would hurt. I went to the doctor and they said it was grease under the skin. He recommended putting a very hot cloth on my eye. It helps with the swelling, but I would like to know how to prevent and help this.~Laura Tejeda, 11
