How To Cure Painful Pustules On Scalp?

My son is been suffering from painful pustules on scalp for last 5 years. We got the pus culture test done in hospital and found nothing. If he takes antibiotic the pustules disappear but they come back again after 1or 2 weeks. He lost lot hair also in this process. Please help.

Pustules over scalp at this age suggests two possibilities.The first is Scalp folliculitis for which treatment with topical antibacterial creams like mupirocin along with oral antibiotics like Azithromycin might help.The other possibility is Tinea capitis which is a fungal infection. In that case topical antifungal creams like clotrimazole along with systemic antifungals like gresiofulvin may be taken after consulting your dermatologist. Regards
