I have injured the lower part of my toenail when about three weeks ago a dumbbell hit on my toe, shortly after a few days I went to the emergency to allow them to drain a hole in my toenail in order to drain the blood away. However a few days before I spotted that there were some pus coming out from the hole on the toenail where it was drilled and I suspected that it was an infection, and then I went to the doctor yesterday and he gave me some antibiotics to prevent an infection.The upper part of my toenail appears to be fine as the blood has been drained away but the lower part of my toenail is a still quite yellow but it has been no sign of it falling off. Do I have to get the toenail away in order for the infection to be treated?Thanks.
