I got big problem with red spots left by acne. i tried tones of things but nothing really helps to cure my skin, if you know something special something 100% working for red spots that can certainly work to cure the spots i'd be grateful.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic
Red spots post-acne are mostly due to scar erythema. The erythema tends to fade with time. There may also be a component of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation to the post acne spots.
If I was the treating doctor I would have suggested an Azaleic acid cream, to be used twice daily, at the affected area. Azaleic acid is a topical retinoid and helps to lighten the spots left over by acne. Azaleic acid is available in 2 strengths 10% and 20%. It is a prescription drug, therefore , you must visit a dermatologist for a prescription.
585 nm Pulse Due Laser (PDL) is also an effective option, if scar erythema is long standing or does'nt respond to topical treatments. You may inquire further about this from your treating dermatologist.
You may use an OTC broad spectrum sunscreen, specially a gel based sunscreen to protect from sun.
