How To Cure Staph Infection?

I had a blood test last Tuesday in the middle of a digestive upset. The doctor called today and said I had a Staph infection and another infection in my blood and urine, and that I should follow up with my doctor. I feel better than I did, but I consider this a serious situation. Is it?
