My son has a ringworm and it is on the scalp and very swollen and he has been prescribed diflucan because he is allergic to the first medicine that was giver to him. He has been on diflucan about 3 weeks and the swollen spot is leaking slowly, what can I do to help the swelling go down?
- fluconazole 50 mg daily for two weeks - antibiotic cephalexin 125 mg thrice a day till infection clears - antihistaminics like levocetirizine 5 mg daily - apply anti fungal lotion like clotrimazole - cleanse the scalp with savlone solution
I hope this would help to clear fungal infection of scalp of your son.
Thanks.
