I have a two-year old with tubes in his ears. I recently took him to the ENT. He had a ball of wax blocking the tube in his left ear. The Dr said it wasn t a big deal and it would come out on its own. That was two weeks ago. For the last 5 days he has had a Brown smelly discharge coming out of his ear. It looks and smells like what s in my dogs ear sometimes. Does he just have moisture trapped in there causing the smell or is there something more serious going on?
If I were your treating doctor, I would advice you Use wax dissolving ear drop for 5 days & get the ear clean under microscope with suction from your ENT specialist. Brown smelly discharge without pus is because of dissolve swollen wax .
Hope this information helpful to you .If you have any further questions I will be happy to help. Regards.
