How To Deal With Behavioral Issues In Children?

my 5 yo grandson has been having behavioral issues and they are now talking about testing him for ADHD and possibly ODD. My daughter is very distraught because it is taking so much time to get appointments and testing done. My grandson has been talking the past few days about how he just wants 'to be dead' and no one will tell my daughter how to handle this when he talks like that. It is more that a little disturbing to hear a 5 year old talk like that. can you help?

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.
I can understand your concern.

You should not delay to consult a psychiatrist if your child is talking so. Try and identify any stress factor is he facing. That could be at the school or with siblings or friends.

Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
