what is usually the source to make you feel as little pain as possible though i am not afraid of surgery i am terribly afraid of pain and how many days will i be in the hospital and i live on a second floor will i be able to get upstairs to my apartment?

Now adays surgery is no more a cumbersome experience for you because of laparoscopy and improved anesthesia methods..
The hospital stay depends on wht type of surgery you are undergoing..
Post operative recovery is also dependant on the procedure and primary diagnosis.
Don't worry.. Keep yourself relaxed..
Try to cooperate with the anesthetist and the surgeon for better outcome..
You can ask your doctor for anxiolytics for relaxation before the procedure..
