Hi,

Actually a contracting pain arising from lower back coming to front of abdomen, moving down to pelvis and creating the urge to bear down. This is followed by a break, the whole episode repeats again. The gap between this pain decreases and the time of contraction increases, as the labor advances.

You are already 40 weeks pregnant with pains for weeks. I would advise to consult your gynecologist and get internally checked to exclude any difficulty in birth process. You can then be given specific management to get the child born.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
