How To Determine Paternity Of An Unborn Child?

I m pregnant. I had fooled around with someone (fingering and handjob) a few weeks before I found out I was pregnant. A few days after I fooled around with that guy, my bf and I got together and had sex. Which one would the father be? I m almost 20 weeks now and neither of the guys really fit into my conception calculator

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Father of the child can be determined by DNA fingerprinting through a paternity test after the baby is born.

In case you want to know during pregnancy, it can be tested by an invasive procedure in amniotic fluid and chorionic villi samples. Invasive procedure carries certain amount of risk for both fetus and mother and hence it can be done safely after the child is born.

It is impossible to determine who could be the father by calculations as the exact date and time would vary, and it is difficult to predict when fertilization and implantation have taken place.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
