How To Determine The Exact Day Of Conception?

Hello Dr, Rynne. Our daughter just called and told us that the vaginal sonogram she had today determined that she was 5 weeks along in her pregnancy - not 8 weeks as she had previously thought. She went to her OB-gyn a couple of weeks ago. The tech who did the sonogram told our daughter that the doctor would be calling. Vanessa is thinking that she was not correct in determining her last menstrual period although she is very organized and most likely accurate when it comes to becoming pregnant as this was planned. Any insight would be helpful.

See it is very easy to calculate the date of conception using the date of last menstrual cycle. In your narrative you have not mentioned the date of last menstrual cycle anywhere so it is very difficult for me to calculate the exact date of your conception. The formula to calculate the expected date of delivery is to add 9 months and seven days or simply 280 days to the first day of women's last menstrual period.
