Hi okay I know this is a weird question to ask but I am 11 weeks pregnant. I had had unprotected sex 10 days before my period.. I got my period but it was like 4 days late. Then I had unprotected sex right after my 5 day period. Multiple times for like 7 days. I had an early ultrasound done and I was measuring at 7 weeks and 5 days. Would I have more likely conceived before or after my period?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
In case of regular cycles, ovulation is 14 days before periods and ovum can get fertilised till 36 hours of ovulation while sperms are viable for 2-3 days after ejaculation. In this light, I see a possibility of conception after the periods (that too last sex in the series). The USG scan also coincides to this guess. You need to follow up for fetal growth and normality (in case it was before periods).
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
