How To Diagnose A Meniscus Tear While Having A Positive RA Factor?
I tore my meniscus in February. The Ortho Dr. said my it looks like RA caused the tear. I do have osteoarthritis as well. I do have a positive RA factor, but when I went to my RA Doctor he didn t believe the Ortho Dr. and said the swelling, pain and stiffness was from the torn meniscus and not RA. He said that he hasn t diagnosed me with that yet. This happened in Feb. and now it is the beginning of July. I don t know what to do and I am hurting and can t do what I used to.

How To Diagnose A Meniscus Tear While Having A Positive RA Factor?
Hello, I think you may need to do an MRI to check meniscus and ligaments. Soft tissues don t appear clearly on an x-ray so MRI is needed. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
