How To Diagnose A Person With Symptoms Of Hypothyroidism?
Mostly I would like some inside info on why doctors insist on keeping my numbers "within the range of normal" when I still have almost all the symptoms of hypothyroidism? I take .88 mg of Synthroid since my goiter went away.b I am 64 years old. My doctor now tells me not to worry about it, I'm fine. I am not fine. Thank you for your answer.
Hi, i do care for your concern. The thyroid status of a person can only be confirmed by doing thyroid function test which consist FT3 FT4 TSH values. other symptoms include fatigue, weight gain, decreased appetite, dry skin due to reduced sweating, cold intolerance, muscle cramps etc.. These are subjective and blood test alone will confirm the diagnosis. Since you are on medication, hope you would have regular follow up and have medication according to it. hope i have provided the info that you needed. Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
