How To Diagnose Slipped Rib Cage Leading To Injury To Xiphoid Process?

Hello. I got a bear hug from my grown son and my doctor said my rib may have slipped out of it s cartalidge cup along with injuring the xyphoid process. She advised me to take Ibuprophen and acetaminophen but I forgot to ask how long this may take to heal. I love to go to my dancing classes every week which involves swinging/arms over my head...

the broken bone or cartilage takes upto 6 weeks to 6 months depending upon the extent of the injury
The drugs prescribed are for the pain.dont take them very regularly.Take it when you feel pain.I would advise you to take rest for atleast 2 weeks or try to avoid te step that involves more swing and movement of upper body
