How To Differentiate Between Synthroid And Levothyroxine?

Hi, I had my thyroid removed back in 1982 and have taken Synthriod ever since. Same dose 100mcg. Along the line due to Medicare they switched me to the genarice verson levothyroxine. I noticed significant changes and had the doctor switch me back to synthroid. Could you please tell me the differences between the two.
