Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello! I will be going on vacation for 10 days. My period starts on the 6th and i will be going on the 4th. Is there any way i can get a medicine or something else that speeds up and makes my period come before these days? Or maybe to push it back? Im not on birth control, so there is no way for me to access those pills to change my period. What else could I use? Its the first time that i will be altering my period. Please contact me whenever you can, and thank you for this service
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. There are no medications available presently to advance your periods before the due date. However, you can take medications containing progesterone hormone like 'norethisterone', twice a day for 3 to 5 days about 2 to 3 days before your period dates are due. Following stopping of this medication, you should get your periods by 3 to 7 days. In case periods doesn't happen by 10 days after stopping medication, you need to seek medical attention promptly. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best. Regards, Dr.Ashakiran.S. MBBS., MD.
