I am nearly 30 want to become pregnant but always have period problems don t get them regularly but when I do there prolonged this time it s 21 days so far no sign of them going the doctors can t find the problem I really need to know and refuse birth control
Hi, Thanks for writing in HCM. I understand your concern. Basically, if you want to conceive, the probability is high when you have your periods regularly. That is because, your ovulation will take place at right time between 10th to 14th day of your periods. If it gets fertilized, then the uterus can prepare for its implantation. If you have irregular periods, it is diffucult to time when you will be ovulating and also there might be problems associated with implantation. Hence, kindly visit Gynecologist and take appropriate medications which will regularize your periods and gives a chance to ovulate at right time. If it doesn't happen naturally by 6 months, then you can plan assisted methods like IUI or IVF, which would help you to conceive. Hope the information provided would be useful. Wish you all the best.
