I am 62, female, and have a history of lung issues due to chemical poisoning. I do not smoke or drink alcohol or do caffeine . Since 2003 I have coughed up fresh blood off and on which has been determined to come from the lungs. Just this weekend I have breathed karosene fumes from charcoal briquettes and now my lungs feel like they are burning. How can I find some relief right now?
Hi
Welcome to HCM
Read your prob, as per your symptoms n cause you have been suffering from chemical pnumonitis. you should get X ray chest n CBC. consult with your doc n start nebulization as per his advise. it helps in reliveing these symptoms. you should also rule out another possibilities like TB. chronic gastritis is also cause of burning sensation on lung, so refer all of these to your consulting doc n start proper treatment.
Hi
Proper diagnosis is a must but for the time being nebulisation, deep breating and checking of acidity is what can be done immediately. In herbal medicines we depend on bol [ gum pf a plant ] to restrict bleeding and soot shekhar ras to check acidity.
Coughing up blood indicates the presence of an inflammation like pneumonitis, TB etc.And again there was exposure to fumes, so its time you visit a hospital and remain under care of pulmonologist ( lung specialist).
Please dont try self medications at this point, particulary at your age and condition.
GIve rest of your mind and body, avoid any sources of irritaion ( smoke, dust, kitchen fumes), have warm water and light food.
Takecare.
