How To Get Rid Of Burning And Redness Of Face After Using Acne Treatment?
I used Neutrogena On-The-Spot Acne Treatment on my face, and now my face is red, swollen, and looks like at bad case of sunburn. It s burning me. On-The-Spot contains benzoyl peroxide. How can I get rid of the burning and redness? Cold water compresses make it worse.
Thanks for your query. Some products in acne treatment creams can cause allergic reaction to skin.In your case the probable reason for burning and redness of face is benzoyl peroxide .Benzoyl peroxide known to cause allergic reaction in some cases.
I would suggest you to immediately spot using benzoyl peroxide and consult dermatologist for proper examination and to rule out other condition. For now what you can do is wash your face with water and mild soap ,apply peroleum jelly and take over the counter antihistamine drug like benadryl .
Hope your concern has been resolved. Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
