How To Get Rid Of Eczema In Lower Part Of The Body?
Hi I have had excema all my life and it was just starting to clear up but now it has come back worse than ever and only on my legs the bottom half I have been to the doctor but they gave my tablets and cream that don t seem to be helping at all so please can you give me advice on what to do next
Treatment of eczema is mainly application of local steroids which may be added with oral steroids, if needed. Other symptoms like infection, if present, are to be treated with antibiotics, anti-fungal or even with anti viral in forms of local application as well as oral therapy, if needed.
Dyshidrotic eczema is usually present on fingers, palms, sole and toes and it generally causes blisters and vesicles in the area, which may some time cause dryness and redness of skin after healing of vesicles. Dryness of skin many a times causes fissure in the skin which may be painful and infected also. Use moisturizer several times a day.
Use lukewarm water and not very hot water for baths etc. Use wet soaks for fissures of dyshidrotic eczema. Eczema not amenable to above mentioned treatment may require ultra-violet radiation (Phototherapy). In some cases immuno-suppressant might have to be taken orally.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
