How To Get Rid Of Gas And Stomach Cramps?

Hi, I am on Metformin in large dose. I take 1000mg tablet twice daily on top of my humalog (3X10) and lantus 22 plus the glimeperide. I have had massive gas issues and when I take the metformin and glimeperide, it tastes like I am taking sugar. Which of these is the culprit of such awful gas and stomach cramps? What besides gas-x can be done about it? Is there something else I can suggest or that would be suggested to me ?

Hi ! I have gone through your question and I understand your concern .

Yes these 2 drugs Metformine and glimepiride cause stomach problem .
I would say that you have stomach cramp is more due to M etformine . This is a serios side effect of M etformine , producing lactic acid and cause abdominal cramp .In this case the medication should stop .

If I were your treating doctor I would stop there 2 drugs and treat diabetes only with insulin .
Call your local doctor to discus about these changes , and monitor you blood sugar.
