for 2 weeks now i have had a really salty taste in my mouth and it won t go way after trying various things. The inner cheeks of my mouth are a little yellow which is where i feel the taste of salt coming from and i seem to always have a lot of salvia. How do i get rid of it as soon as possible as i struggle to sleep at night and worry it may effect my gums and teeth?
Understanding your concern. As per your query salty taste in mouth occurs due to infection that contains pus which has got way to reach other areas of mouth by forming sinuses. Dehydration, dry mouth and poor immunity of body are other possible cause for this. Need not t o worry. Maintain proper oral hygiene by brushing and flossing daily. Do antiseptic and Listerine mouth wash. Consult dentist and get oral cavity examined and the treatment can be planned only after that. Drink plenty of water to maintain hydration. Do for scaling and cleaning of gums. Use gum paints as well.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
