How To Get Rid Of Vaginal Odor That Persists?

I have a fishy smelling vaginal odor that comes and goes. However, as of late, I can't seem to get rid of it. I am told by my OBGYN not to douche. I tried a 7 day treatment she prescribed, and the problem persists. What could this be and how do I get rid of it?

OBGYN 's  Response
Hi ,thanks for your query.
Fishy smelling vaginal odour is typically noticed in case of Bacterial vaginoses infection.
A high vaginal swab test could confirm it and the obgyn can give precise treatment with vaginal pessaries and oral medications.
Your OBGYN is right in asking you not to douche as it aggravates the problem. You can clean your vagina twice a day with warm water and use a intimate hygiene gel or wash to clean private parts only from outside, till the fishy odour exists.
You can let me know the results of your vaginal swab test for further advise.
