Hi..
Can understand your concern..
As per your complain a white bump on upper lip with a dark centre can be due to bacterial infection..
It can also be due to viral infection caused by
Herpes Simplex virus causing cold sores and it can be most probable cause if it is recurrent as per your case..
It can also be an oral acne which can also represent as a white bump..
A white bump on upper lip can also be due to exposure to sun and cause a sun blister..
It can also be Fodyce's spot which are elevated
sebaceous gland..
It can also be due to trauma to the minor
salivary gland causing formation of a small
mucus cyst known as mucocele..
Mostly the small white bump on lip harmless and resolves itself but in case of pain or recurrences you need to
consult a dermatologist and get evaluated..
In case of bacterial infection
topical antibiotic ointment can help..
In case if it is Herpes caused by Herpes simplex virus, oral and topical
antiviral medication can help in preventing recurrent outbreaks..
Sun blister will get resolved of its own or you can apply a steroid ointment over it..
Apply SPF 15 containing lip balms before going to sun..
Fordyce's spots and mucus cyst are harmless and will resolve themselves..
Drink plenty of water to maintain hydration..
Avoid licking, sucking and biting of lips..
Avoid excessive sun exposure..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards..
