How To Heal Circumcision Wound?

Hi. I had circumcision about 3 weeks ago. I had infection few days after op but this was treated with antibiotics, fluids etc. I feel ok now. Working etc. BUT, I noticed that where fennulum was skin is rather raw and I m not sure wether this should be attached to rest of penis and heal or this will simply grow skin and heal? I can t pull skin down in this place. It s at the other side of penis. Everything below is a bit swallen, like a ring. Stitches from that area gone. I m just hoping stitches did not dissolve too quickly because of infection and because of that skin did not heal properly.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to an infection of the wound.

I suggest cleaning the area properly.

I also recommend using an antibiotic cream for local application.

In case of pain, you may use Tylenol.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
