How To Improve WBC Levels In Blood?

Hello, I did blood work for my iron since it has always been low. Except this time my iron levels were good and I m not anemic. The nurse however mentioned my WBC levels were low. I am a vegetarian and have psorasis. I m worried because I hope it s nothing serious. Any help? They suggested it was probably because I had a cold. But the last time I was sick was in February; with a virus which led to fever and cold.

Hello,

You are having very low WBC levels. Low WBC is caused by viral infections that temporarily disrupt the work of bone marrow, genetic factors, cancer or other diseases can damage bone marrow. Autoimmune disorders, certain medications, chemotherapy, HIV/AIDS, aplastic anemia, leukemia, lupus, malnutrition and vitamin deficiencies, radiation therapy, etc., may also affect WBC count.

Get connected to a GP, you may need medicines and supplements to elevated WBC count. You may need WBC boosters like Neupogen (filgrastim), that can help the bone marrow to produce more white blood cells. A healthy diet, rich in vegetables, protein, beans, nuts, seeds, poultry, fish, is a good way to maintain a healthy immune system.

Foods such as blueberries, strawberries, leafy green vegetables can help reduce the risk of developing certain immune disorders. Take whole foods as they are a good source of antioxidants. They support the function of a healthy immune system. Take nutrients and antioxidants from foods. You should consult with a healthcare professional before starting any supplements. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
