Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 1 year old weighs just 7.1kg. He weighed 3.3 kg at birth and was 6.4 kg at 7 months. I have tried different foods for weight gain and also started giving him external milk. He was exclusively breastfed upto 6mo n is still addicted to BM. He is quite a picky eater n doesn t eat much at a time. He is very active n started to walk little bit. I am very worried about his weight though my paed. is fine with it. Please advise me how often should I feed him n should I be worried?
Your little boy weight is a little bit low than normal. Normally it should be around 8.5 kg. So don't worry , especially he is active and start walking. You should use milk rich in vitamin D and calicum . For the food give different vegetables gradually and use many ways to cook it. He well refuse at first but with time he well ask for them.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
