How To Increase Absorption Of Medicine After Gastric Bypass Surgery?
I had gastric bypass surgery in 2002 is diagnosed ADHD three years ago I ve been taking Adderall and I m up to over 100 mg a day and I m finding that it s just not effective and I m wondering because I ve read that the absorption medications as last after gastric bypass there s a way to solve this problem
Gastric bypass surgery may reduce the transit time of food and medications but not so much that it can cause problems with absorption of medications. Most of the medications are absorbed fast and most of these are absorbed in the small intestine.
Please consult your Psychiatrist to know the condition and that you are not getting adequate relief so that he can adjust the dosages and alter medications as needed. Take medications with food if your Doctor allows.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
