my 2.5 yo daughter (preemie, born at 31 weeks) is a picky eater. she will only eat oatmeal (breakfast), rice, mac n cheese (lunch/dinner), and certain fruits (strawberries, bananas, pineapples). I would like to introduce more healthy foods and help her gain weight. Any suggestions for what i can do and what specific foods will help me increase her weight?
At least 5 portions of variety of fruit and vegetables everyday meals based on starchy carb [potatoes, bread, rice, pasta] dairy or diary alternatives [soya drinks yogurts] some beans pulses or other type of protein unsaturated oils and spreads eaten in small amounts plenty of fluids [few steps; bulk up mashed potato by putting milk or cheese in it put grated cheese on beans on toast make milk puddings make soups with milk instead of water [take fortified products] [bread beans lentils, dried fruit are iron sources green vegetables too fortified soya drinks, cereals have B12, child needs B12 supplements vit A, C, D and sunlight is good for them.
